Arto.to gallery locted in an industrial building of an old Coal Mill is certainly a very inspirational space. A space for anyone who likes to discover new things and a space for art and craft culture.

 

What we see in nowadays art is the connections that art can make in different fields. Art is an important communication channel, a mirror of our time. Art helps to shape our atitude toward life and gives us useful confrontation discussion with our critical thinking. Contemporary art is an adrenalin and a passion, which also offers space for business and investments. Anyone who is brave enough to make an investment in contemporary art becomes a patron of art, a part of them will in 50 or 100 years have a rare treasures in their collections.

 

People

 

Andrea Hoffman Nečasová

She studied art science and French language and literature at Masaryk University in Brno and in 1997 defended her D.E.A. degree at École Pratique des Hautes Études of the Sorbonne University in Paris. She did an internship at Centre Georges Pompidou and in the Musée d´Orsay. She was in charge of the Public Department in the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art of the National Gallery in Prague (1995-1999) where she introduced the concept of Debate Thursdays. She organised lectures of the renowned architects Botta and Kaplicky.

 

 

Patrik Hoffman - www.atelierhoffman.eu

He studied architecture at Czech Technical University in Prague. With Martin Rajniš he designed the New Czech Poštovna (post office) at the top of the Czech Republic’s highest mountain Sněžka. In 2005 he founded Atelier Hoffman, a design studio. He has originated numerous architectural projects in Prague, Czech Switzerland and other places in the Czech Republic. For the refurbishment of the Coal Mill project in 2013, Patrick has won the National price for architecture - Czech Grand Prix architects. Also in the same year one of his projects, Aparthotel in Krasna Lipa, has been titled the Building of the year.

 

 

Terezie Šimáčková

She studied French language and literature at Charles University in Prague, and art history in Prague and Olomouc. She worked in the Lecturers´ Department of the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art of the National Gallery in Prague. She works also as a translator and yoga lecturer.

Marie Bergmanová

She studied art history at Charles University in Prague and worked in the State Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín, in the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art of the National Gallery in Prague, and in the Gallery publishing house. Since 2008 she has worked as curator of the paintings collection in the Gallery of Central-Bohemian Region (GASK) situated in Kutná Hora where she assembled the innovative permanent exhibition Collection 1 2 3 (traces of history in acquisitions). Is an author of the concept of the exhibition of Rene Habl : Pictures 2010 - 2013, arto.to Gallery, Coal Mill, 2016.
